Poem:Ribbon

Tie a ribbon about the tree, don’t ever forget me. Off to war you will be and I will be in sad company. With a kiss I seal the promise of waiting for you, once and for all we both stay true to our hearts that know the pain. The ribbon flutters and caresses the whispers on the wind all by name. Sweet vows and sweet nothings bound in black and white print shipped across the ocean waves leaving hope in each day. Once you return to me I pray, not in death’s grasp but life in full color so we can both cut the ribbon and love one another.
