Poem: Longing

The heart aches from the distance between us. The miles cause chaos within the soul. Not able to bare these emotions running out of control. Mind delivers doubt into this scene, silence stretches between us. Not a word for days to come as you chase a life away from our own. The little world created is made of mud and soot, it crumbles beneath the heat of the hot desert sun. A name called rose among the sand marked for the love built within this prism that reflects the memories locked away. Will this melody we created fall flat upon a scale? the sheet music set ablaze, this liaison fallen bitter upon the tongue in the pursuant of a glory. With hope on this score, the notes are laid to rest and perhaps when daylight breaches the hills the love will be united.
